A Gentle Prologue from a Star | Remembering Xin Xin’s First Wedding Anniversary

One Year Later: From Stars to Clouds – A Wedding Story Retold
A full year has passed since that romantic wedding surrounded by stars.
During this year, Xin Xin and her husband have welcomed a new life – a little baby named “Yun Duo” (Cloud). Suddenly, we found ourselves missing that star‑filled night, missing the moment when musical notes turned into stars and flew across the room. So we pulled out the footage again and cut a brand new film.
Because some stories are worth telling more than once.
She Was Always a Star
The director said that the initial idea of using “stars” as a motif was actually very simple – “because her name is Xin Xin.”
It wasn’t a creative concept that came from hours of deliberation. It was more like a clue that had always been hidden in her name, waiting for us to discover it.
Xin Xin gives people the feeling of a light, radiant girl. Not an intense, glaring light, but one like a star – quietly shining, making you want to take a second look. Her husband stood beside her, and together they shared a very comfortable chemistry – understated, yet deeply assured.
Director Essie’s first impression of the two of them was: a little bit Japanese, but also feels very Korean.
Later, when we chose the music, we went in a Korean direction. Because that clean, slightly sweet feeling suited them perfectly.
A Song Randomly Discovered That Day
Many people have asked us how we choose the background music for a wedding film.
The truth is, every wedding is different. Some tracks are carefully planned and prepared for a long time. Others – you don’t know what the right song should be until you arrive at the venue, feel the temperature in the air, see the light, and observe how the two interact with each other.
Xin Xin’s wedding was the latter.
Why did we choose IU’s Blueming?
The director said it was just a song she randomly came across while selecting music that day. But the word “blueming” is so perfect – it describes the subtle emotional changes in love, like a flower slowly opening. And the flower language of blue roses happens to be “miracle” and “the impossible thing.”
And that wedding venue, filled with stars, was waiting for a miracle.
Musical Notes Turn into Stars, Like a Video Game Quest
There is a sequence in the film that was designed to echo the “stars” theme.
Xin Xin sits at a piano and begins to play. The moment her fingers press the keys, musical notes fly out from her fingertips and transform into little stars. These stars seem to come to life – they travel down the corridor, fly into the banquet hall, circle the entire venue, and finally land gently back in her palm.
That image was our little “hidden Easter egg” for Xin Xin.
The director said she wanted to create a feeling similar to Nintendo’s Super Mario – jumping, leveling up, collecting stars. It’s as if someone summons the stars, the stars travel around the world, gather all the blessings, and then return them to her.
“Xing” (star) and “Xin” (Xin Xin’s name) – they sound almost the same in Chinese.
We just made her name truly become stars on her wedding day.
The venue itself was telling the same story. A giant unicorn statue quietly guarded a star palace, and the entire room sparkled with starlight just for her. In the short film showcasing the venue decoration, the background music was titled Satellite – a satellite, something that forever revolves around its planet.
Everything revolved around her. Because on that night, she was the center of the universe.
From Stars to Clouds
One year later, we received news: Xin Xin’s baby had been born. Her nickname is “Yun Duo” (Cloud).
When the director heard this, she paused for a moment, then smiled. “That name suits them perfectly.”
Yes. Stars shine in the night sky. Clouds drift across the same sky. They have always belonged to the same heavens.
When asked, “Director, if you could say one thing to Yun Duo, what would it be?” Essie replied, “Then let Yun Duo urge her mom to have another baby named Rainbow.”
We think that’s a pretty good idea. ~(=^‥^=)
Finally
GoldenLove has been filming weddings for so many years, and we are often asked: How do you design a wedding film that is uniquely theirs?
Our answer is: We don’t film a perfect ceremony. We film the secret hidden in a person’s name. We film a song that was only discovered that same day. We film the moment when musical notes turn into stars and fly away. We film the sight of a girl embracing happiness inside her very own star palace.
And also – long, long afterward, when we open those images again, we can still be moved by the starlight of that day.
From “Stars” to “Clouds” – the story has continued all through this year.
We are honored to have pressed the record button for that star.
And we look forward to the day, sometime in the future, when Yun Duo watches this film. And sees how her mother’s name once lit up an entire night sky.
